Planting Churches in Unreached Areas of Thailand

Thailand is a 10/40 Window nation.
Recent statistics reveal a population in Thailand of over 71.75 million people.

The percentage of Thai people who knows Jesus?
Less than 2%.

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him?
And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him?
And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?

That is why the Scriptures say,
“How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
– Romans 10:13-15 –

Many Thai people first hear the good news of Jesus while they are working in a large city. There, those who come to know the Lord are able to experience the joys of becoming part of the family of God. Continuing to walk with God can become more difficult when a believer needs to return to a hometown where no church exists.

Currently, 73% of sub-districts in Thailand have no church at all. *
Only 6% of the villages have been reached with the gospel. *

* More Thai church data can be found at eStar Foundation

These statistics above remind us the work is not done.
For this reason, we partner with Thai Christians through the Pioneer Pastor Program to fulfill Jesus’ command:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

– Matthew 28:19-20 –

The Pioneer Pastors Program provides training, education, and resources
to Thai pastors and Christian lay leaders, multiplying disciples
and planting “3-self” churches in unreached sub-districts of Thailand.

What are “3-self” churches?

  1. Self-Supporting
With a bi-vocational Thai pastor, or a full-time Thai pastor supported by Thai Christians
  2. Self-Leading
Led by a fully trained Thai pastor, with the church being governed by Thai church leaders
  3. Self-Multiplying
Thai churches planting other new Thai churches with minimal or no foreign support and leadership

“Declare his glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.” -Psalm 96:3

“All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord;
they will bring glory to your name.” -Psalm 86:9

You can help to bring the gospel of Jesus to Thai people who live in unreached areas.

Make the difference.
